Rawan-CP-Week 1

My conversation partner is from Turkey. She wears a headscarf, which is generally common in Middle Eastern countries. She is a young woman who is married to a local teacher, also Turkish. She wants to attend college, and improve her speaking abilities. She stumbles every now and then. She speaks slowly, but with practice, I can imagine her skills will improve a lot. She was much more advanced then my tutoring partners.

After Tea Time, she sent me an email expressing her wish to keep a daily diary, and to send me her writings. Every day, I will make comments and respond. So, we'll work on speaking and writing skills. We'll also work on vocabulary, as that was her biggest issue.

My CP has been living in America for 1 year, and has been educating herself on the language; She listens to internet English recordings, reads English-learning textbooks and watches television series' every day. I was impressed at her level of English for only a year's emmersion, but it's not where it should be.

I like her enthusiasm to learn, and her desire to seek an education. She seems determined, eager, and I look foward to conversing in the near future.
